Here’s our “Elevator Pitch”!
TalkErie.com exists to change the narrative of the Erie region.
Using a 24-hour news/talk format to feed multiple content streams, including AM radio, FM radio, web streaming, podcasts, social media, and online print, we will advance understanding on the issues directly affecting people and institutions in our region. By using the programming from the Salem Talk Network for national programming, we will strive to have the smartest, best-informed hosts on the radio. The central focus of our efforts locally is a daily, three-hour talk show produced by current ITI staff and hosted by local broadcast and blogging veteran Joel Natalie. Joined by a cadre of diverse voices vested in Erie’s success, Joel will pursue truth and answers to a broad array of issues that concern the region. We will inform and educate, encourage rigorous and civil debate, and spotlight trends, opinion-leaders, and elevate underrepresented voices to the table. We will strive to be mobile and agile, switching to covering breaking local news, big announcements, or on the scene for the current festival or big event. In tandem with a twice-hourly local news broadcast, TalkErie.com listeners will be up-to-date on the issues that matter to themselves and Erie.
