One of the largest motorcycle rallies in the nation has returned to Erie this week. Roar on the Shore, organized by the Manufacturers and Business Association, is expected to bring 170,000 participants to the five-day event.
Multiple rides and events are scheduled, with proceeds to benefit the Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center. Thursday evening’s Bringin’ in the Roar parade from Presque Isle Downs and Casino proved again to be the signature event of the festival, with Grand Marshal Rick Harrison from the TV show “Pawn Stars” leading the pack of thousands.
Food, vendors and free live music will dominate the “hub” on State Street at Perry Square, with regular vehicle traffic limitations in force downtown.
Roar on the Shore concludes on Sunday.
