Four days of appreciating what our hometown has to offer, CelebrateErie last weekend benefited from near picture perfect weather, solid crowds, a great lineup of entertainment, and amazing and diverse food choices.

Five blocks of State Street were packed with art, music, food and information. Stretching from the main stage at 4th Street past Perry Square all the way to 9th Street capped off by the perennial favorite Chalk Walk street art exhibit, there was something for everyone at the annual event. Three stages were programmed from afternoon to late night, including a massive crowd Sunday night to see country up-and-comers Dan and Shay.

CelebrateErie lead Aaron Loncki, who is also on Erie Mayor Joe Schember’s senior staff, said that his team wanted to retro fit the decade’s old event to focus on the good things the Erie region has to offer and “celebrate.” Considering that the new administration only had a few months to mount such a massive event, it was mission accomplished.
