Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Secretary Teresa Miller announced yesterday that February benefits for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP recipients will be dispersed Friday, January 18th and available for use by January 19th. The early payment, which is typically issued the first of each month, follows an announcement from the U-S Department of Agriculture notifying states that benefits will be fully funded for February, but must be paid early. 1.8 million Pennsylvanians are on the SNAP program. Officials caution those with the benefit to try to conserve the early benefit to last through the month of February, since there will be no additional benefits for the month.
