After a winter hiatus, the Erie Zoo reopened today. And tomorrow is the Grand Opening for the 2019 season, with free admission. Zoo Executive Director Scott Mitchell told TalkErie.com that there will be fun things to do across the Zoo grounds.
“Free carousel rides, all kinds of activities all over the grounds, and if you are interested in our camps or classes, if you sign up that day, you can get an additional 15% off the classes,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell said that if folks want to visit with Ollie, the nine-year-old orangutan, they should take a trip to the Zoo in the next couple weeks, before he is transferred to the San Francisco Zoo to start his own family.
