The faith-based community improvement organization ServErie is getting ready for its next ServErie Saturday. It’s a four-hour service event on April 6th where hundreds of volunteers will meet at Saint Luke’s Church. They’ll then be bussed to dozens of agencies in the Erie area to do tangible work like yard work, light construction, painting or cleaning.

But ServErie executive director Marcus Atkinson told TalkErie.com the real priority is making connections. “The work is actually a vehicle to bring us together. We always tell people at our rallies before we get on the busses is that we are a relational group, so if you the opportunity to put the paint brush down and build a relationship, put the brush down build the relationship,” Atkinson said.

You can sign up to participate in ServErie Saturday at ServErie.com.
