Erie, PA – Erie County is launching its sixth year of the Summer Jobs and More Program with seven youth orientation sessions scheduled for locations around Erie County.
Sessions are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
Monday, April 22 – 5 to 7 p.m., Booker T. Washington Center, 1720 Holland St.
Tuesday, April 23 – 5 to 7 p.m., Martin Luther King Center, 312 Chestnut St.
Wednesday, April 24 – 1 to 3 p.m., GECAC, 18 W. Ninth St.
Wednesday, April 24 – 6 to 8 p.m., Girard High School Library, 1135 Lake St., Girard
Thursday, April 25 – 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Union City High School Lecture Room, 105 Concord St., Union City
Tuesday, April 30 – 5 to 7 p.m., Northwestern High School, 100 Harthan Way, Albion
Thursday, May 2 – 5 to 6:30 p.m., McDowell High School Library, 3580 W. 38th St.
The orientation sessions will provide more information about the program as well as the opportunity to apply. Young people interested in participating in the program must attend an orientation session. Those who attend a session and apply will be interviewed for acceptance into the program.
Those attending an orientation session must bring a completed proof of TANF eligibility, such as a SNAP benefits form or free/reduced lunch verification, and two forms of identification, such as a valid driver’s license, birth certificate, school ID or Social Security card. Those younger than 18 must bring a completed working papers application and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
The Summer J.A.M. program, a collaborative effort of Erie County, the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority and the Erie Community Foundation, is open to Erie County residents aged 16 to 21 who meet the program’s household income guidelines. More than 780 young people have completed the Summer J.A.M. program since its inception in 2014.
