At this hour, individuals and representatives of churches from across the region are participating in a 24 hour Bible reading marathon at Perry Square in Downtown Erie. The live reading of the New Testament of the Bible is leading up to Thursday’s National Day of Prayer observance, which will be held at Erie City Council chambers at City Hall, Thursday at noon. Organizer Cindy Matta explains why the group is reading through the Bible.

“We are saturating the airwaves and the atmosphere of Erie with the Word of God,” said Matta.
