The Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority or ECGRA recently released their annual report for 2018 to 2019. Last year ECGRA issued over $6.1 million in grants to organizations involved in youth and education, neighborhoods and communities, municipalities, and events and assets that impact Erie County’s quality of place.

But as Executive Director Dr. Perry Wood points out to TalkErie.com, the greatest investments have been in local small businesses, amounting to $2.4 million. “We are making investments in programs that are going to help small businesses. We also are making investments in revolving loan funds or seed funds. These are non-profits that have a mission to get funds out to small businesses so they can either startup, or grow and expand their business,” said Wood.

Revenues from the local casino are the source for the ECGRA grants.
