As Erie continues to welcome large numbers of immigrants and refugees to our city, we continue to benefit from the diversity and cultural assets they bring to our community.  So Tuesday, we spoke with a couple of New Americans who have chosen to start their businesses here in Erie, as well as officials with an employment agency that specializes in placing New Americans into jobs. With us was Srdan Ninkovic, operations manager of Mosaico Employment Services through the Multicultural Community Resource Center, as well as Daran Masri, the owner of the Casablanca Hookah Lounge, and Douang Chay Phetsavanh of the Khao Thai Restaurant, to learn more about what it’s like to be a New American operating a successful business in Erie.
