Local Erie county officials are regrouping after Erie County Council’s Task Force received an email from leaders at the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College indicating a pull-out by the NPRC from negotiations over a Memorandum of Agreement between the county and the school.
Erie County Director of Administration Gary Lee, who had begun the partnership talks with the NPRC in late 2018, says the development just delays further the real goal: a strong low-cost post-secondary alternative.
“At the end of the day, we want to make sure that our residents, that our students are getting the type of opportunity, and that’s the key, the opportunity, to really develop their careers through education,” Lee said.
