Beginning October 1st, 2020, or just over one year from now, Pennsylvanians will need a REAL ID compliant license, ID or a US Passport to board domestic flights, or enter federal buildings and other facilities like military bases. The problem? Most people have valid PA drivers licenses, but they’re not REAL-ID compliant. That concerns Derek Martin, Executive Director of Erie International Airport, who told TalkErie.com he’s trying to mitigate all the confusion over the ID’s.
“My fear is that people aren’t going to take the time to get their driver’s license in advance, or have a passport and then being denied boarding as they come to the Erie Airport,” Martin said.
