Last evening, the Jefferson Educational Society presented the first of twelve lectures as part of Global Summit Eleven. Camille Busette of the Brookings Institution opened the series with a talk about race and belonging. Busette told TalkErie.com that she hoped attendees would gain a new understanding about spaces and inclusion.
“I want somebody who hasn’t experienced that to understand what it must feel like to be not wanted in a space, and to understand that that is an experience. It’s part of the American experience, and it’s actually something that we have control over,” Busette said.
