Erie residents headed to the polls yesterday to cast their votes for key local government positions. Among the newly elected officials are: David Ridge and Erin Connelly for Erie County Judge; Dan Ouellet as Millcreek Township Supervisor; and Steve Oler for Harborcreek Township Supervisor. Erie County voter turnout was nearly 29%.

New faces can be expected in Erie City Council and Erie County Council, as newcomers fared well in this year’s election. In the county’s first district, Democrat Kim Clear was the winner. In the fifth district, Republican Brian Shank was victorious. In the seventh district, Republican Ellen Schauerman cruised to victory. The City Council had three contested spots, which were won by Democrats Mel Witherspoon, Ed Brzezinski and Michael Keys.

Complete unofficial results can be accessed at the County of Erie Election website.
