Pulitzer-prize winning columnist George Will spoke to a crowd of a thousand last night at Gannon University as part of the Jefferson Educational Society’s Global Summit XI.
Will’s lecture focused on some of the biggest problems facing the US, including the breakdown of our politics. Will told TalkErie.com that the divide is real between those who live in big coastal cities and those in fly-over country, like Erie County.
“The feel that they paid a disproportionate share of the price, and there is a price to be paid for globalization and economic dynamism. Western Pennsylvania is ground-zero in some ways for the difficulties. So it’s a real divide,” Will said.
