Last month, the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, rolled out it’s $5.2 million, five year economic and community development initiative, called Erie Forward. The plan will provide support to existing Erie businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as attract new business and investment.

James Grunke, CEO told TalkErie, their goal is to generate 2,000 new primary jobs in targeted industry sectors.

“What industries does Erie have a competitive advantage in? We’ve identified six target segments. Those mean we have the right workforce development, we have the right training, we have the right skills that we have an advantage in those six industries that the rest of the country doesn’t,” Grunke said.

Those sectors range from high value-added manufacturing to experiential recreation. The full brochure is available at the Chamber’s website.
