HARRISBURG – Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie) announced that 20 volunteer fire and ambulance companies throughout the 4th District have qualified to receive $223,559.56 from a grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
“This is great news for our district,” said Sonney. “Our communities are blessed with hard-working and dedicated fire and ambulance companies. I am pleased we are able to support them with additional funding from the state so they can continue to serve our communities.”
All funding comes from the proceeds from slot machine gaming, and not General Fund tax revenue. Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training or reduction of existing debt.
