On the first day of the K-12 school shutdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we connected with Erica Erwin, spokesperson for Erie’s Public Schools on the plans the school district made to feed their students. Then the superintendent of the General McLane School District, Rick Scaletta, called into the Joel Natalie Show to explain their contingency plans in light of the shutdown. Finally, Shani Bills returned to her show producer role and shared her reporting from Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper’s news conference, where she made a county-wide Emergency Declaration that called for the closing of non-essential businesses.
