Erie, PA – County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper today announced no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Erie County.

Governor Tom Wolf extended the stay-at-home order through April 30 for Erie County and 32 other counties in Pennsylvania, effective at 8 p.m. Twenty-six counties across the commonwealth have more cases than Erie County, and Erie is the 15th largest county of the 67.

“We can be encouraged by these statistics, but we must remain steadfast in following the social distancing and personal hygiene guidelines, as well as following the stay-at-home order so we can stay ahead of the spread in Erie County,” Dahlkemper said. “We are doing a great job, but we can never assume that because we had no more cases reported in Erie County in the past 24 hours that we are clear. Let’s all be responsible for one another – especially for those who are at high risk.”

Dahlkemper and James Grunke, president and CEO of Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, remind local business owners that many resources are available to them.

“As we continue to navigate this crisis, our team is taking the lead role in economic development and will be connecting your business with the best resource to help you make informed decisions,” Grunke said. “Our business outreach team has made direct contact with over 1,000 businesses, both members and non-members. This outreach has given us a strong data set to understand the challenges facing the business community.”
