County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper today announced four new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Erie County. The total lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Erie County to date is 62, with 1,351 negatives and no deaths of Erie County residents. Thirty-five of the 62 total cases have recovered.

One of the new cases is in their 20s, two are in their 40s, and one is in their 50s. Contact tracing continues by Erie County Department of Health. Three of the new cases are located in Zone 1, and one is in Zone 4, which can be found on the cumulative cases map by zone at eriecountypa.gov.

The gender breakdown of the 62 lab-confirmed cases in Erie County remains split completely down the middle, and the age breakdown looks like this:

  • Ages 10-18: 3%
  • Ages 19-24: 11%
  • Ages 25-49: 31%
  • Ages 50-64: 34%
  • Ages 65+: 21%

“No matter the number of cases, we know the virus is still going to be looking for its new host,” Dahlkemper said. “The best practice is to act as if everyone you come into contact with has COVID-19. Please stay home. Continue the practices of keeping six feet away from others outside of your home, washing your hands regularly, and disinfecting surfaces. And when you must leave your home, continue to wear a mask.”
