For the past month, Congressman Mike Kelly, who represents the 16th district, which includes Erie County, has fought a battle with coronavirus. He came down with symptoms in late March and has been convalescing at his home in Butler ever since.
Kelly told TalkErie.com that although he was spared the respiratory problems many positive patients have, he lost a lot of weight, as the virus destroyed his appetite.
“You know losing thirty pounds in a little bit over two weeks really took a toll on me. It was hard, it was as hard as anything I’ve ever gone through, much more difficult than any flu,” Kelly said.
The congressman is feeling better and hopes to start working on Infrastructure legislation in about a week or so.
