Erie County reports one new positive case of COVID-19 for total of 88

County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper today announced one new positive case of COVID-19 has
been reported in Erie County. The total number of cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Erie County to date is 88, with 1,912 negatives.

The new case is in their 40s and located in Zone 1, which can be found on the cumulative cases map by zone at eriecountypa.gov. Current data can be found on the chart on the “Positive Cases in Erie County” page at eriecountypa.gov. Erie County Department of Health continues the contact tracing that has been taking place for seven weeks.

The environmental team at Erie County Department of Health continues to make field visits and is currently working with the guidelines from the state to assist businesses with reopening in Erie County.

“As we begin to reopen businesses in Erie County on May 8 during the yellow phase, I ask everyone to please continue taking precautions when you leave your home,” Dahlkemper said. “Keep your physical distance, wear your mask or face covering, practice good hygiene, and use good judgment. If you don’t feel comfortable going to a particular establishment for any reason, then stay away from that business. Do what you need to do to protect yourself. Your partnership in doing this properly, by following guidelines and proceeding with caution, will be the key to our success and future growth.”
