Now available: Updated list of businesses and activities permitted to operate May 8
County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper today announced two new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Erie County. The total number of cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Erie County to date is 95, with 2,367 negatives and 78 recovered.
Both of the new cases are in their 20s and are located in Zone 1, which can be found on the cumulative cases map by zone at eriecountypa.gov. Current data can be found on the chart on the “Positive Cases in Erie County” page at eriecountypa.gov. Contact tracing continues by Erie County Department of Health.
Of the 95 cases, 54% are female and 46% are male. The breakdown of cases by race is as follows:
- 74% White residents (19% Hispanic; 81% not Hispanic)
- 21% Black residents
- 3% Asian residents
- 2% Multiracial residents
The age breakdown of the 95 cumulative cases looks like this:
- 3% are ages 0−4
- 1% are ages 5−9
- 4% are ages 10−18
- 15% are ages 19-24
- 36% are ages 25-49
- 26% are ages 50-64
- 15% are ages 65 and older
An updated list of businesses and activities that are permitted to operate starting Friday, May 8 – as long as the owners/organizers strictly adhere to the state guidance – can now be found on the Business Resources page of eriecountypa.gov.
“We are urging businesses to do their best to comply with the guidance, and we are asking every one of you to adhere to it so we can reopen Erie County safely and efficiently,” Dahlkemper said.
Guidance for masks and businesses allowed to operate, fact sheets, business resources, family resources, videos, translations, continues to be added to eriecountypa.gov as it comes available.
