County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper today announced six new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Erie County since Friday, May 8. The total cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Erie County to date is 120, with 2,680 negatives and 84 recovered cases.

One of the new positive cases are in their 20s; two are in their 30s; one is in their 50s; one is in their 80s; and one is under the age of 5. The cases span Erie County with three of the new cases located in Zone 1; one located in Zone 2; one located in Zone 3; and one located in Zone 5.

The zones can be found on the cumulative cases map by zone at eriecountypa.gov (refresh page), and updated data can be found on the chart on the “Positive Cases in Erie County” page on eriecountypa.gov.

The new cases are connected to known positives. Contact tracing continues by Erie County Department of Health.

“Every so often our numbers do not match what the state numbers are showing,” Dahlkemper said. “Typically, after a few days, our numbers align again. Be assured we are working with our local partners, and we are very confident that our numbers are correct and that the contact tracing we have been working so hard to complete since our first case is what is pushing our efforts forward.”

Guidance for masks and businesses allowed to operate, fact sheets, business resources, family resources, videos and translations continue to be added to eriecountypa.gov as it comes available.
