Business inspections resume now that county is in yellow phase
County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper today announced two new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Erie County. The total positive cases of COVID-19 in Erie County to date is 145, with 3,278 negatives and 120 recovered.
One of the cases is in their 20s and the other is in their 50s. They are located within Zone 1 and Zone 3. The zones can be found on the cumulative cases map by zone at eriecountypa.gov (refresh page). Current data can be found on the chart on the “Positive Cases in Erie County” page at eriecountypa.gov.
David George, supervisor of environmental health services at the Erie County Department of Health, joined the County Executive at today’s briefing. George outlined how the health department is working with businesses to safely reopen while also resuming health inspections. The department of health also resumed its testing for West Nile virus and Lyme disease.
“As we transition to resuming normal operations, it is important that we maintain a balance between normal operations and continued COVID-19 mitigation efforts,” said George. “Our goal is to work with businesses to ensure the safety of staff and patrons.”
