Erie County Board of Elections reminds residents that Tuesday, October 27, is the deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot. Ballots must be in hand Tuesday by 5 p.m. via electronic version, paper version or in person. The board is working seven days a week to process mail-in applications and return them to applicants.
If residents have applied before Monday, October 26, and still have not received a ballot, they should email jpennsy@eriecountypa.gov or voterreg@eriecountypa.gov. Residents are asked to include a name and phone number so the Registration and Voting office knows who to contact. Those who can’t get through to Registration, or who don’t have an email address, can call 814-451-6303.
If residents have applied for an absentee or mail-in ballot but decide to vote in person, they should bring their ballot and return envelopes with them to their polling place. An elected official will void their ballot so they may vote in person.
If residents do not receive their ballot by Election Day (November 3), they may vote by provisional ballot at their regular precinct.
If residents have not mailed their ballot, they should consider using the 24/7 drop box in front of the Erie County Courthouse, located at 140 W. Sixth St. Ballots must be returned no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
