Biden Wins Race for the White House

On Saturday, the Associated Press, along with other news organizations, called the race for President. Former Vice President Joe Biden is now the President-Elect. Despite Pennsylvania giving Biden the electoral votes needed to win the race for the White House, the statewide vote has not yet been certified.

Vote counting concluded in Erie County Monday night, with Biden receiving approximately 25,000 more mail in votes than President Trump. 2,100 provisional ballots were returned in Erie County and the elections office is reporting a 67 percent voter turn out with a two to one ratio of in-person voting to mail-in ballots.

Erie County once again became the blue chimney stack that sits at the top of Pennsylvania. In a razer-thin margin, former Vice President Joe Biden flipped Erie County back to blue with just 1,450 votes. Biden beat out President Trump for Erie County, despite a strong showing for Republicans in down ballot races.
