Erie County’s Elections and Voting office released it’s unofficial candidates and offices list this week for the May 18th Municipal Primary. There are several competitive marquee races throughout the county:
County Executive
With two-term Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper announcing last fall that she would not seek a third-term, a total of six candidates are contending for their party’s nominations. On the Democratic side, Dylanna Grasinger, Tyler Titus, Rita Bishop, and Carl Anderson have all entered the race. For the Republicans, Brenton Davis and Shawn Wroblewski will be competing for the nomination.
City of Erie Mayor
With current Mayor Joe Schember seeking reelection for his second term at the helm of the fifth-floor of Erie City Hall, he will be now facing two primary challengers: Tom Spagel and Sydney Zimmermann. There are no Republicans running in the primary.
Millcreek Township Supervisor
First-term incumbent John Morgan seeks to retain his seat, but will face competion this spring from current County Councilwoman Kim Clear. Two Republicans, James A. Lindstrom and Kirk McCaslin, are competing to challenge the winner in the fall.
