Edinboro University’s program, which prepares teachers to be effective advocates for learning and positive change, recently earned a high ranking from a national analytics website.

Study.com granted Edinboro the No. 19 ranking among the Best Bachelor’s Degrees in Early Childhood Education for 2021. Edinboro was rated highly for its affordability, accessibility, program quality and value.

These accredited programs help students develop skills and dispositions necessary to become effective facilitators of learning in the classroom.

As members of Edinboro University’s renowned School of Education, early childhood faculty engage in ongoing research, scholarship and service. More than 90% hold terminal degrees in their chosen fields.

State-of-the-art learning facilities such as the Literary Resource Center house curriculum, textbooks, assessment materials and lesson resources that replicate what is being used in area schools.

All of Edinboro’s teacher certification and school personnel preparation programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Study.com’s school lists only include accredited, non-profit public and private schools with the objective approach to judge schools with a combination of current data points from the U.S. Department of Education with school-specific detail.

Affordability ratings are based on tuition cost, financial aid availability and alternative tuition plans. Accessibility features admittance rates, educational support and services and non-traditional credit programs – including dual-enrollment, AP participation and transfer credits.

Quality and value ratings are outlined with retention rates, graduation rates, student-to-faculty ratio, career resources, job placement and student loan default rates.
