2,000 doses available for area residents who qualify under Tier 1A

As part of Allegheny Health Network’s (AHN) and Highmark Health’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to COVID-19 vaccinations for residents of the northwestern Pennsylvania community, AHN Saint Vincent will host another vaccine clinic at Erie Insurance Arena on Friday, March 26.

Open self-scheduling is now available on AHN.org for those  who qualify for Tier 1A – 65 and older or 16 and older with a qualifying medical condition. Those without internet access can call 814-CONNECT. Please do not call the hospital regarding vaccine.

AHN Saint Vincent will distribute more than 2,000 vaccine doses at the clinic. The clinic is open only to those who have been scheduled to receive the vaccine. No walk-ins will be accepted.

AHN Saint Vincent reached out to many qualified individuals via MyChart and by phone to schedule them, but numerous slots are still available. The hospital also worked with several community organizations that serve at-risk populations to schedule vaccines, including the Mercy Center for Women, Multicultural Community Resource Center, Erie United Methodist Alliance, Inc. (EUMA), International Institute USCRI-Erie, St. Martin’s Center, Shiloh Baptist Church, and GECAC’s agency on aging.

Volunteers from AHN, Highmark Health, the Erie County Health Department and City of Erie will staff the event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parking in the parking ramp adjacent to the arena is being provided by Erie Insurance at no cost for vaccine recipients. The Red Cross is donating meals for healthcare workers volunteering at the clinic.

The hospital expects to continue to receiving additional supply of vaccines each  week and will be ramping up its onsite clinic at the hospital in the McGarvey Learning Center to administer them.  The community is encouraged to check AHN.org regularly for updates on scheduling and sign up for AHN MyChart to receive notifications.
