Senator Dan Laughlin of PA’s 49th District has begun exploring the possibility of running for the Republican nomination for Governor of Pennsylvania in 2022. Laughlin explained to TalkErie.com’s Joel Natalie Wednesday that he could have a lane to the nomination, as most current candidates right now are from the GOP’s far right.

“I consider myself a very centrist politician. From my standpoint, that provides me with a fairly clear path that is actually viable. So we’ll see how the next few months play out,” Laughlin said.

Laughlin admitted that there’s much ground work, travel and fundraising to do before formally announcing his candidacy.
