City of Erie presents the 814 Summer Experience, Lights Over Lake Erie

Summer in Erie will begin to look more like normal, as Cultures, Arts, Festivals and Events of Erie (CAFE) will host a variety of events and activities leading to a celebration on 814 Day, August 14, 2021. 

The 814 Summer Experience is presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and AHN Saint Vincent Hospital. 

Highlighted summer events and activities include:

814 Summer Bucket List

Working with Macaroni Kid Erie, CAFE has compiled the 81.4 “must-do” activities that make up a quintessential Erie summer. Participants are encouraged to share photos of their experiences using #814BucketList on Facebook or Instagram, or upload to www.814day.com . Each photo shared with the hashtag will be entered to win one of three family prize packs, including a grand prize Staycation package at Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort. 

LegendErie Scavenger Hunt

Embark on a city-wide mystery scavenger hunt, rooted in Erie’s hidden history beginning July 15.Participants will use an app to track clues and advance from location to location. Those who complete the mystery will be entered to win a $1,000 grand prize!

814 Day Music Festival and 814 Day Family Movie Night

The one-day summer music festival and movie night Saturday, Aug. 14 in parks throughout the city of Erie. Local bands will play on five stages, while attendees enjoy artwork installations in each park. Family-friendly movies will be played in two locations: Frontier Park and McClelland Park. Bands and movies will be announced at a later date.

Lights Over Lake Erie

Erie’s annual fireworks display will be held at the Bicentennial Tower at Dobbins Landing at 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 3. The event is presented by Mercyhurst University. Visit www.lightsoverlakeerie.com for more details.
