814 day

The City of Erie will host two events in celebration of 814 Day, on Saturday, Aug. 14: the 814 Day Music Fest from 3-9 p.m. and the 814 Day Family Movie Night at 9 p.m. 814 Day is presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and AHN Saint Vincent Hospital.

“814 Day is a nod to our area code and our region,” said 814 Day Executive Producer Aaron Loncki. “We wanted to figure out a way to come together as a community after losing so many festivities last summer to the pandemic.” Loncki added, “This is a one-time event, so don’t miss it.”

814 Day Music Fest

The 814 Day Music Fest will feature local musicians at five City of Erie parks: Bayview, Washington, Perry Square, Griswold and Rodger Young Parks. Each park will host five local bands from 3-9 p.m. on 814 Day, Saturday, Aug. 14.

“The 814 Day Music Fest is a new concept we came up with during the pandemic,” said Loncki. “Though we didn’t have enough planning time to pull off CelebrateErie this year, we wanted to branch out into neighborhoods and give residents an opportunity to enjoy live, local music in smaller groups all across Erie.”  Loncki added, “CelebrateErie will be back in 2022.”

The 814 Day Music Fest will occur rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the show. Full details are available at www.814Day.com
