Citing failing storm and sanitary sewers that in some cases are a century-old, Mayor Joe Schember is advocating for a $10.5 million project to fix critical problems in 21 areas of the city.
Schember wants City Council to approve an appropriation of federal funds from either American Rescue Plan, or the pending infrastructure bill to pay for the project. In addition, the administration is advocating for a yearly stormwater fee to be added to residents city tax bill, ranging from $12 to $36 per year for future maintenance.
