This morning, flanked by Erie County township and borough officials, County Executive Brenton Davis proposed a re-budgeting of American Rescue Plan Funds expected this summer. City of Corry Mayor Mike Baker read a letter that calls the current plan into question.
“This plan was created behind closed doors by the previous County Executive and two outgoing members of County Council, and done so without public hearings or other general feedback of the public or other municipalities outside the City of Erie. This is unfair for our constituents,” Baker reasoned.
Davis said he is not targeting any specific program’s funding, such as the Community College or the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission, but he wants to hold four or five public hearings, in every part of the county, to get additional citizen input on how the money can be invested.
