LECOM officially broke ground at the site of the future Ambulatory Surgery Center located at the corner of Bryant St. and Peach St. during a ceremony Friday, May 20.
The 23,000-square-foot Ambulatory Surgery Center is forecasted to be complete in 15 months and will allow for same-day surgery procedures that are generally too complicated to take place inside doctors’ offices but not complex enough to require a lengthy hospital stay.
“The Ambulatory Surgery Center demonstrates our commitment to and progress toward the future of medicine,” said Anthony Ferretti, D.O. “Outpatient surgery will be the focus of this new $14.5 million facility. It will feature advanced medical technologies and enhanced services among multiple specialties.”
Dr. Anthony Ferretti was joined by John M. Ferretti, D.O., president and CEO of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Silvia M. Ferretti, D.O., provost, senior vice president and dean of academic affairs at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, County Executive Brenton Davis, Millcreek Township Supervisor Kim Clear, and state and local representatives at the ceremony. Monsignor David Rubino served as emcee.
