Erie top-ranked in decreased living costs

In a newly released survey of rental housing costs across the United States by Rent.com, Erie, PA was ranked number one for communities seeing lower costs of living.

According to the article, “Cost of Living is Decreasing the Most in These Areas,” by Muriel Vega, Erie’s housing costs dropped 43.6%. For the entire cost of living category, the Erie MSA saw a 17.1% decrease, putting the metro ranking as number one.
