County Executive Davis to attend White House summit with Vice-President Harris

 Erie County Executive Brenton Davis will be attending an invitation-only White House Summit on the American Rescue Plan and Workforce headlined by Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. 

The White House Summit will be hosted by the White House American Rescue Plan Implementation Team and the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. This event will feature state and local leaders across the country and highlight model American Rescue Plan investments in workforce development across the areas of care and public health, infrastructure, and expanding the workforce. 

During the summit, there will be a many speakers including, Vice President Kamala Harris, Labor Secretary Marty Walsh, Senior Advisor to the President and White House American Rescue Plan Coordinator Gene Sperling, and Senior Advisor to the President and Director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs Julie Rodriguez. Also speaking at the event will be Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper. 

“I am honored to be included in these extremely important talks with our country’s leaders. I have met previously with members of President Biden’s cabinet and look forward to continuing these discussions with Vice President Harris to further build relationships between Erie County and The White House, said Erie County Executive Brenton Davis.” 

County Executive Davis has invited an Erie County delegation to sit in on the summit. Davis has invited Mary Bula (Erie Together), Gary Lee (Diverse Erie), Chris Gray (Erie County Community College), and Erin Mrenek (Erie County Health Department) among others. 

The White House Summit will take place via Zoom. County Executive Davis and others will be available for media interviews following the summit at approximately 1:15 p.m. outside the Erie County Courthouse.
