Erie County Executive Brenton Davis has been selected by the National Association of Counties (NACo) President Denise Winfrey to sit on three national committees. Davis has been named Vice-Chair of the International Economic Development Task Force as well as Vice-Chair of the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Steering Committee. Davis will also serve as the Chair of the Transportation Steering Committee.

“Davis was chosen because my goal is to build a talented and committed leadership team for NACo. Our strength is in our members and their involvement. It is time to elevate the county role in these areas of need,” said NACo President Denise Winfrey.

“I am honored to serve on these important committees. Economic and workforce development are key foundations of our administration. These appointments finally give Erie and other smaller counties, a seat at the table. We have been left out of the national discussion for too long,” County Executive Davis said.

County Executive Davis looks forward to working with leadership from around the country, and helping to steer the policy that will shape community and workforce development initiatives. The National Association of Counties is a lobbying group that has significant influence on congressional policy

NACo will be providing specific dates, times, and locations that these committees will be meeting in the future.
