Crowds were steady Friday for the first full day of Tall Ships Erie 2022, presented by Highmark at Erie’s Bayfront. The festival celebrating Erie’s maritime heritage continues Saturday and Sunday, with festival hours 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day.
Seven tall ships plus the Mama Duck and Baby Duck are on display, including the US Brig Niagara, docked at the foot of Dobbins Landing, in her home port. At the Bayfront Convention Center is the Maritime Marketplace, a display of information on shipwrecks in Lake Erie, and educational presentations. Music and entertainment is being performed at three stages, with food vendors available along State Street and Holland Street.
