Editor’s Note: On Tuesday, Feb. 7th, TalkErie News reported the announced intention of Perry Hi-Way Hose Company to not longer respond to EMS medical calls outside their service area as mutual aid. On Friday, Feb. 10th, Erie County Executive Brenton Davis responded to the situation.

In a statement the county said:

The County is aware of the negative impact a licensed EMS provider not providing mutual aid services would have on neighboring municipalities. We have sent the other attached letter out to all municipal leaders, fire, and EMS personnel.

We are continuing to work with all parties in order to solve the EMS crisis throughout the region.
