At the Feb. 14 public supervisor’s meeting, Supervisor Clear swore in Carter Mook as the next Millcreek Police Department Chief.

“I will work tirelessly to maximize excellence, professionalism, and accountability,” said Chief Mook. “Together, the MPD will change Millcreek in enduring and meaningful ways.”

Chief Mook is a 28-year veteran of the Millcreek Police Department with experience in various leadership roles of the patrol division, the SWAT team and the traffic section. While serving as the patrol commander, Chief Mook furthered his leadership skills and graduated from the 2022 FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association’s Trilogy Program.

Chief Mook’s vision for the MPD is to be trusted and respected by the entirety of Millcreek Township with each decision made to benefit the community. Part of this pledge is a renewed commitment to a diverse Millcreek Township, more communication and a positive community presence.

Some changes internally include a focus on training as the MPD has received an influx of new hires, making the department younger than ever.

Millcreek Township extends thanks to the former MPD Chief, Scott Heidt, for his dedicated lifetime of service to the MPD.
