Erie’s Public Schools held an exciting event for the community as the groundbreaking ceremony for new renovations for the Biletnikoff Field is underway.
This long-awaited project has a stamp of $6 million worth of transformation to the field. With the new addition of artificial turf, stadium seating, a new concession stand, a regulation-size, all weather track and more, this is a huge milestone for the Erie Public Schools, student-athletes and the Erie community.
Fred Biletnikoff, a 1961 alum of Technical Memorial High School, a member of the NFL Pro Football of Fame and the SuperBowl XI MVP for the Oakland Raiders in 1977, was in attendance with his wife, Angela for the ceremony. Biletnikoff was enthusiastic about the project bearing his name, saying, “You think about all the good things that happen in your life, this is at the top of the list.”
