What they said:

“The partnership with the city is extremely important,” said Martin LaMar at a news conference Monday afternoon at Oliver’s Beer Garden, overlooking the east basin of Dobbins Landing. “When the proposition, offer, and opportunity came to sponsor this event, I couldn’t help but to give it an emphatic ‘yes.’ Not only as the new executive director of the Port Authority, but as a new resident as a City of Erie, as well. I really am excited to take part in this great event.”

“We are grateful that we can continue this tradition thanks to the partnership of the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority,” said Mayor Schember.
