Millcreek Township Swears in First Full Time Fire Chief

205

MILLCREEK, PA – Millcreek Supervisors voted to swear in the first Millcreek Fire Department (MFD) Chief, Michael Cliff, on the July 11, 2023, Supervisor Meeting.

“I’m excited to serve the township and start building the new Millcreek Fire Department,” Said MFD Chief Michael Cliff.

Cliff worked in fire services for 23 years as a firefighter and paramedic with Saybrook Township, Ohio. He served as union president for the International Association of Fire Fighter (IAFF) Local 3196 for ten years. Additionally, Cliff has been a township trustee for six years in Kingsville Township, Ohio. Cliff is passionate about fire service and will be a great addition to Millcreek’s fire service community.

Millcreek Supervisors created the MFD in late 2022. Prior to this, The Millcreek Township Fire and Emergency Services Commission created a proposal that highlighted the necessity to adapt and create a paid fire department to combat declining volunteerism.

The next step for the MFD will be hiring the remainder of the firefighting force. More information on hiring will be provided in the coming weeks. Please continue to monitor www.millcreektownship.com/jobs and Millcreek social media.
