The City of Erie and the Erie MPO invite the public to a second meeting on the Kahkwa Bridge Project.

The former Kahkwa Bridge was built in 1920 and served pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic on Kahkwa Boulevard over Ravine Drive in the City of Erie. The bridge was demolished in October 2021, primarily due to its advanced deteriorating condition. Based on a follow-up neighborhood survey conducted by the City of Erie, the majority of residents requested a vehicular bridge with enhanced sidewalks for pedestrians and cyclists.

The first public meeting was held on February 23, 2023, to present project alternatives and solicit public feedback. The second public meeting will focus on the final design of the bridge and construction.

The meeting will be held:

  • Date: Wednesday, November 8, 2023
  • Location: City of Erie, City Council Chambers, 626 State St.
  • Time: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (Presentation at 6:00 p.m.)

The meeting location is compliant with the American with Disabilities Act. If you require special assistance to attend and/or participate in this meeting, or if you or some individual with whom you are familiar does not speak English as their primary language and desires to participate in this meeting, please contact Jason Sayers at 814-870-1397.
