Millcreek Township is planning for the next generation of parks and recreation by executing public engagement events and a survey. Both efforts are part of the new parks and recreation strategic plan announced earlier in 2023.
“Understanding how the public uses and envisions our fantastic parks and recreation system in the future is crucial to planning what we want to develop,” said Millcreek Township Parks and Recreation Director Ashley Marsteller, “all of our parks and recreation planning has led to this public engagement.”
During the public engagement events, residents will have an opportunity to express what they would like to see in parks and recreation through various visual, verbal and written activities. Additionally, on a larger scale, residents will provide information through a survey about Parks and Recreation facilities.
Recent findings from the 2023 Millcreek Made survey reaffirmed positive community feelings towards Millcreek’s parks and recreation program.
“We’re excited to embark on this large-scale discovery mission to decide how parks and recreation can grow as we look towards the future” said Marsteller.
The Parks and Recreation Strategic Planning process was a budgeted expense that began at the May 9, 2023 Supervisors’ Meeting. It came out of recommendations from the 2018 Embrace Millcreek Comprehensive Plan and the overwhelmingly positive feedback received on Millcreek’s Parks and Recreation Department.

- Nov. 8 | 5 p.m – 7 p.m. at the Erie County Conservation District, 1927 Wager Rd, Erie, PA 16509
- Nov. 9 | 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Millcreek Township Municipal Building, 3608 West 26th St, Erie, PA 16506
- Nov. 11 | 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. at the Asbury Barn and Recreation Center, 4106 Asbury Rd, Erie, PA 16506
