Erie County Executive Brenton Davis is pleased to present $35K to Cranesville Borough for the purchase of a new generator for their sanitary lift station located at 10095 John Williams Ave, Cranesville. This lift station services over 200 homes and 12 businesses located within the Borough.
“This project is extremely important to us from an environmental aspect. Currently, if the power went out, there were major concerns that an overflow would occur spilling the wastewater into nearby Temple Creek. This new generator would provide the borough with peace of mind knowing they have an extra layer of protection, said County Executive Brenton Davis.
Ellen Schauerman who serves the seventh district, which includes Cranesville, helped champion this project through.
“When Cranesville approached us about the potential issues with the lift station, this was something I knew we had to fix. These smaller boroughs have historically been ignored with funding, so I am pleased to see this one get across the finish line,” said Schauerman.
Total funding for the project will come from Cranesville’s American Rescue Plan Act funding / money set aside from resident’s water and sewer bills and some local tax money.
Erie County GAP Funds come from the American Rescue Plan Act funding. These are used to leverage a municipality’s effort to invest in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure, making necessary investments to improve access to clean drinking water, support vital wastewater and storm water infrastructure, and to expand access to broadband internet.
