In a recent letter, Pope Francis insists that people seeking God’s love and mercy shouldn’t be subject to a “exhaustive and moral analysis” to receive it. However, Bishop Persico says the document reaffirms that marriage is a lifelong union between a man and a woman, indicating no change in church policy.
