Erie County Council will consider an ordinance Thursday to rescind the county’s lease agreement with Gannon University for Project NePTWNE.
Council approved a 25-year lease agreement in October, which allows Gannon to develop a water research and education center inside Blasco Library. According to Erie County’s Solicitor, Council has no authority under the home rule charter to rescind the vote, and repealing the lease without Gannon’s approval would be a breach of contract.
